Once you have crafted the Indium Drive, install it onto your ship by entering your inventory, clicking on a blank space, and installing the item. Try to put it in a technology slot if you have space. You can now travel to blue star systems.

From here, ensure your ship's Hyperdrive has fuel and head into the galaxy map. Keep looking around the map until you find a system that has a blue dot on it. This is the system that you want to warp to.

Once you're in the system, scan planets for Indium. This is done by pressing the scanner while still in your starship and aiming at a single planet or moon. You just need to land and search for blue Indium deposits using your scanner once you find a planet that is rich in Indium. Use the Terrain Manipulator to harvest Indium from the deposits.

What is Indium used for?

Indium doesn't have all that many uses in No Man's Sky. You'll primarily use it for trading or for completing certain base-building projects. Here are the main items that can be crafted using Indium:

  • Modified Quanta
