Nintendo Won't Exhibit Booths Or Games At Tokyo Game Show

Nintendo's announced they won't be attending this year's digital-only Tokyo Game Show on September 30th.

While they've been listed as an event partner by TGS, Nintendo's clarified through their Japanese Twitter account they'll only be there in a supporting capacity for indie games. As such, don't expect any new reveals on their 1st party line-up or exhibition booths.

Nintendo Won't Exhibit Booths Or Games At Tokyo Game Show

You can find the original tweet below, though Google Translate offers the following interpretation:

Nintendo will not exhibit booths or game titles at the "TOKYO GAME SHOW 2021 ONLINE" to be held from September 30, 2021. We will only cooperate in exhibiting indie games from other companies. If you are considering participating in the event, please do not make a mistake.

Considering Xbox, Capcom, Bandai Namco, Sega, Konami, Square Enix and other big names are confirmed for TGS, that's unfortunate news for Nintendo fans, but fear not. Rumours of a Nintendo Direct presentation this month recently surface, which would negate the need for a TGS appearance. If that gets confirmed, we'll keep you informed.
