New Datamine Suggests Switch Online Expansion Is Getting Dozens More Games

Nintendo 64 games are on Switch, and while the service is still working out some issues, including the quality of emulation and lack of button mapping, a new round of datamining points to much more in store for the service - at least in terms of games.

ResetERA user MondoMega (first spotted by TechRaptor) found listings for Nintendo 64 and Sega Mega Drive games on Switch Online with slots for up to 38 N64 titles and 52 Sega games. These numbers include the service's launch games, though it looks as if the second wave of Nintendo 64 games is still blocked out.

New Datamine Suggests Switch Online Expansion Is Getting Dozens More Games

Taking those into consideration, that means there's potentially at least 22 as-yet unannounced N64 games planned.

MondoMega also noticed a pattern in Nintendo's file naming. SNES file codes start with 2, N64 begins with 3, and Mega Drive has 5 as the first digit. They believe that points to Game Boy games coming in the near future and likely beginning with "4."

Of course, that's just speculation for now since Nintendo has not announced further plans for additional platforms on Nintendo Switch Online yet.
