New World: Best Life Staff Build

New World has a varied list of weapons that turn the tide in combat with many offensive or evasive skills, and determine which kind of approach your character will have in combat, whether is PVP or PvE. But today we’re gonna talk about a non-combative weapon, the Life Staff, a magic weapon that will enable you to heal yourself or your teammates in the direst situations.

Life Staff - Mastery Tree

For the Life Staff you don’t have to follow a specific Mastery Tree, instead, you can rely on the skills Divine Embrace, Sacred Ground, and Beacon, and build the rest of passive skills upon that. Both Divine Embrace and Sacred Ground are immediate Healing resources for you and your companions, with Beacon providing a hybrid between offensive and healing, which can be really useful if you're playing with teammates, especially on PvP.

Life Staff - Attributes and Stat Focus

The Life Staff is a magic weapon that scales with Focus, and so far, the only one in the whole game. While investing in this specific stat is your priority, the rest of your points will depend on what kind of weapon you want to use as a secondary. You can pair the Life Staff with weapons like the War Hammer, to have more tools of crowd control, or the classic Sword and Shield to provide survivability to your character. No matter which secondary you choose, don’t forget to invest at least a fair bit in Constitution so you’re not that weak in combat.

In synthesis, your focus should be:

  • Focus
  • Constitution (at least 100 points)
  • Any other Stat (heavily depends on which secondary you want to use)

For this setup, you want to use either Light, Medium, or Heavy Armor depending on the secondary weapon you're aiming for. Since you will be focusing on Healing more than anything else, your armor will be mostly related to your secondary weapon, so the Heavy Armor can prove useful for you to be able to stand your ground in combat with the Warhammer, the Medium Armor should be your choice if you want to stick to the Sword and Shield, and if you decided to go for a magic secondary weapon, Light armor is the one you want.

Life Staff - Gems and Perks

You can always go for the Gems that suit your gameplay better, but if you're looking for advice, maybe the available ones aren't the best since they're mostly offensive, so our recommendations, in this case, cover some damage absorption gems that can provide bonuses on damage for your secondary weapon.
