NBA 2K21 Update Today (July 6): Latest changes to PS4 and Xbox

NBA 2K21 just released a brand new patch on PS4 and Xbox One, and it's a pretty sizeable one for basketball fans to download.

Based on reports the new update is roughly 11GB on PS4 and slightly bigger on Xbox consoles, which requires 14GB of space.

At the time of writing, though, 2K is yet to fill us in on exactly what the patch contains, beyond a really top-line bit of detail.

The game is starting to wind down as we approach NBA 2K22, with various leaks and cover star details starting to appear as we approach the next launch.

As such, we imagine any sort of Courtside Report blog posts are likely to be thin on details for any upcoming patches. Although, some in the community might not even be that fussed at this point.

NBA 2K21 Update 1.12 Patch Notes

So far, the courtside report hasn't gone live and there's no word from Mike Wang, Gameplay Director for NBA 2K.

As far as we can tell, the update is solely intended to do one thing (at least according to the PS4 update history) -

Improved the stability of the title in addition to a number of general improvements to the user experience.

In any case, you'd best get to downloading asap. We'll update this page as soon as we have some solid patch notes from 2K, or if the community spots any significant changes; but with the update only minutes old, there's nothing standing out just yet. Plus, with the next-gen update having launched only two weeks ago, it's hard to say exactly how much more they will have to fix before the devs full attention shifts to the next release.
