NBA 2K22 is about far more than making shots.

You will have to get stuck into the nitty gritty defensive work from time to time too, especially if you're opting to complete your MyCAREER as a big.

With that in mind, you should be looking to grind for some of the defensive badges available in-game.

There are plenty to choose from, but we've whittled it down to the best five to save you the hassle.

Best Defense/Rebounding Badges

As we've already alluded to, we've worked through all of the available badges to bring you what we consider to be the best five in this years version of the hit basketball sim.

So without further ado...

Rim Protector

If you're a big and you don't opt for the Rim Protector badge, then you're doing it wrong.

This badge improves your ability to block shots and in turn, lessens the likelihood of being dunked on.

With the likes of Ja Morant, Zach La Vine and Giannis Antetokounmpo looking to posterize you in the paint, you won't want to step onto the court without it.

Tireless Defender

If you're looking at running your save as a guard or a wing, then you should definitely consider the Tireless Defender badge.

With this badge applied, you will be able to play defense more aggressively without losing energy at the same rate as a normal player.

So if you're running those screens and perimeter plays, this is a must have.

Clamps

If you're looking to defend the perimeter, there is arguably no badge more important than the Clamps badge.

This badge will hand defenders access to quicker cut off moves, making them more successful when bumping or hip riding the ball handler.

In short, it will make it harder for the opposition to get around clean on the perimeter, reducing their ability to drive to the basket and hammer down.

Intimidator

Now this could be the most important badge of all.

The Intimidator badge does exactly what it says on the tin, it intimidates the offensive players, causing them to miss shot more often.

With the clock drawing down, the Intimidator badge can be enough to make your opposition brick that game winning three, especially if you work it up to a Hall of Fame level.

Menace

Now this one is a bit hit and miss, it really depends on if you're good at defending or not.

If you back yourself as a good defender, then this badge will take your game to the next level.

Whilst guarding an opponent, their attributes will drop if you are playing good defense. It's a badge that can swing a 1v1 battle in your favour considerably, but only if you have the ability to back up your game.
