Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Expansion Adds Master Rank

Capcom has confirmed Master Rank's being added to Monster Hunter Rise's upcoming Sunbreak expansion next year. Within this mode, tougher monsters await Kamura Village's top hunters. Confirmed by Capcom's official Monster Hunter Twitter, Master Rank sees players fighting new monsters, alongside stronger versions of existing ones.

Across most Monster Hunter titles, Master Rank is a level progression system that offers a stronger set of monsters to fight. Players could encounter new monsters for a fresh challenge but familiar monsters may return once more with new attack patterns. So, players entering Master Rank missions should take note if they want to bring the hunting spoils home.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Expansion Adds Master Rank

Aside from new monsters, Capcom's often introduced new loot from monsters via Master Rank. That can be used to craft new armor, which often has better stats and let players sport new looks. Fans wanting to wear new armor - or a different spin on a monster's armor set - can expect this if they get enough materials from Master Rank monsters.

Monster Hunter Rise's Sunbreak expansion is expected to arrive in Summer 2021. Rise's PC release arrives earlier in January 2022, allowing all platforms to enjoy Sunbreak content simultaneously.
