Monster Hunter Rise Adds Okami-Themed Content On July 30th


Though Capcom recently released Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, we're still seeing strong support for timed-Switch exclusive Monster Hunter Rise. Having previously outlined their future post-launch support plans back in June, Capcom Collab has now arrived within Rise.

Arriving as a free update, we've now got a crossover with cult classic Okami, Clover Studio's 2007 action-adventure. Playing as the Shinto sun goddess, Amaterasu, we took on the form of a white wolf, and this experience drew heavily from Japanese mythology and folklore.

Monster Hunter Rise Adds Okami-Themed Content On July 30th

So, as part of this update, an upcoming Event Quest reward is an "Ammy Costume", giving us a layered armour set for your Palamute. That arrives on July 30th but if you wanted an early look at this upcoming crossover, you can watch the full video below.

Going by Capcom's roadmap, that's not the only crossover Rise fans can expect. With another one planned for the "end of August" as part of Version 3.3, we'll keep you informed when we learn more. If you're interested in picking up Okami, that's available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
