The 2019 reboot of Modern Warfare marked a change to how post-launch content would be released.

Infinity Ward and Raven Software introduced the Battle Pass system as a brand-new way for players to earn content alongside releasing a wide range of themed cosmetic bundles throughout the cycle of the game.

Activision has revealed that this has proved to be a resounding success, announcing that it generated a total of $1.2 billion in revenue between July and September.
