All eyes are now focused on CWL London, the next Open event of the Black Ops 4 season. With just week to go until the world’s best Call of Duty teams descend on the Copper Box Arena to battle it out for $325K USD in prize money. In this series of articles, we will be looking at each pool and attempting to predict the outcome of each one. Here, we will be taking a look a pool D.
Midnight Esports
In comparison to the other three pools, pool D appears to be clearer cut in terms of which teams will advanced into the playoff bracket. After receiving heavy backlash after a total roster overhaul which started the Pro League on the front foot, Midnight are slowly but surely finding some much-needed form before London.
Some big victories over 100 Thieves and Enigma 6 in the last week of cross-division matches has put them in a good position for a solid placement. Despite this, Midnight will be using Pandur in place of Saints due to travel issues and that could impact on their performance at the Copper Box Arena.
Player to watch: Lacefield
Team Heretics
The Spanish side of Heretics have been the talk of the CWL this season. Their unrivalled passion and extremely fast paced gameplay have seen them secure third place in Division B of the league. Heading into London looking on improving from their top eight placement at Fort Worth, the Spaniards could make a run if they make it into the winner’s bracket.
Defeating Fort Worth champions Luminosity in their final league match before London has set a good foundation for the team to build on as they look to continue the recent resurgence of Spanish Call of Duty.
Player to watch: Lucky
UYU
CWL London will be the debut event for a new-look UYU roster. The addition of high-sensitivity superstar Royalty from Evil Geniuses adds a new dynamic of raw aggressive slaying, a role essential for the success of any team. Hopefully the new addition to the team will help UYU build on their top 12 finish from Fort Worth.
As one of the few teams to defeat Luminosity during the pro league, UYU are not a team that can be written off easily. There is a real chance that we could be seeing them escape what has the potential to be a very competitive pool.
Player to watch: Proto
Elevate
Having acquired the team licence from Excelerate Gaming, Elevate are one of the two organisations to join the CWL. This team in particular is interesting as it is fielding players from both North America and France. Joining Profeezy, Skyz and MRuiz are former Denial players Wailers and Breszy.
In the past, a mixed team of this nature has failed to live up to the expectations put in front of them. The language barrier between players could be their undoing but if they are able to overcome that and communicate efficiently, Elevate could be an unsuspecting dark horse.

Predictions
1st: Midnight Esports2nd: Team Heretics 3rd: UYU 4th: Elevate
Since their roster overhaul, Midnight have slowly started improving and are beginning to look like the best team in this pool. Heretics have experienced some unusual performances after such an impressive start to the pro league so they could be a team which dominates the pool or falls to teams that they are expected to beat. Either UYU or Elevate could well challenge for the second spot, making this pool especially difficult to predict!
