CWL London - Group C Predictions

CWL London - Group C Predictions

This weekend, sixteen of Europe’s finest Call of Duty teams will descend upon London, as they prepare for battle at Europe’s first official Call of Duty World League event, CWL London. Tickets are now available for purchase!

As the Gfinity Arena undergoes its final preparations ahead of the $25,000 event, I’m excited to share my predictions of Group B.

Widely considered as one of Europe's top teams, Orbit head into CWL London with the fourth seed. An impressive showing back at the PlayStation Invitational showcased what this team could do at an offline tournament. After countless hours of practice, Orbit are looking to take home the victory this weekend. I'm expecting to see Orbit make a deep run in the tournament.

Led by former HyperGames player, QuiKeR, Team 3G head into the weekend with the sixth seed. With a number of regular top eight placings within the online 2k tournaments, this team clearly possesses enough skill and ability to cause a major upset.

In my opinion, Team 3G are the dark horses of the tournament. If they can get off to a good start, I can see them securing a solid placement.

Cyclone are the unknown entity in Group C. The all French line-up are looking to acquire some much-needed experience for the rest of the 2017 CWL season. In all honesty, I would be surprised if this team manages to take a series against some top-quality opposition. On the other hand, could they catch some of these teams off guard and perhaps escape the group?

Millenium are the second French team to feature in Group C. The more experienced roster of the two, Maxxie and co are intent on escaping the group and landing themselves a spot in the double elimination. They have been looking good in scrims and in online competition and are heading to London to make an impact ahead of CWL Paris later in the year. If they can beat Team 3G, I can see them making it out of the group.

Predictions

1st: Orbit 3-0

2nd: Team 3G 2-1

3rd: Millenium 1-2

4th: Cyclone 0-3

For me, Orbit are the team to beat in Group C. They'll be looking to achieve victory in what is set to be a highly competitive competition. As for the second place, it will be a highly-contested affair between the remaining three teams but I can see Team 3G taking it.

It will be close call between 3G and Millenium, and I genuinely think either team is capable of making it into bracket play.

Which teams do you think will make it out of Group C? Let us know in the comments below!
