CWL London - Group B Predictions

CWL London - Group B Predictions

This weekend, sixteen of Europe’s finest Call of Duty teams will descend upon London, as they prepare for battle at Europe’s first official Call of Duty World League event, CWL London. Tickets are now available for purchase!

As the Gfinity Arena undergoes its final preparations ahead of the $25,000 event, I’m excited to share my predictions of Group B.

Elevate

Reedy | Zed | Watson | Seany

A solid top twelve placement at MLG Vegas, combined with two second place finishes in the online 2K tournaments, sees Elevate head into CWL London as your second seed. The all-British squad have shown real signs of potential, epitomised by their recent victory over the 2016 Call of Duty World Champions, Team EnVyUs at MLG Vegas.

Since then, Elevate have cemented their positions as one of the top European teams and as a result, they are understandably considered as serious contenders for the CWL London title.

Player to Watch: Watson

The Imperial

ShAnE | SamB | Endura | Brain

After a considerable hiatus from CoD esports, The Imperial return with a team full of wealth, experience and talent. The sheer slaying power from Endura and Brain can match any team at the event, and when combined with the objective work from Shane, The Imperial possess more than enough potential to make it into the double elimination bracket.

Player to Watch: Endura

Team Prismatic

RiRi | DonCosmo | Piero | Dexter

Heading into Group B as the underdogs, Team Prismatic will be looking to cause a major upset this weekend. Despite their lack on international reputation, DonCosmo and RiRi have competed at the highest level within Europe and as a result, it wouldn’t surprise me if Team Prismatic manage to snatch a win at the event.

Predictions

1st: Elevate 3-0

2nd: The Imperial 1-2

3rd: TBC

4th: TBC

Elevate are a force to be reckoned with and I expect them to comfortably make it into bracket play. As for the second seed, I believe it will be an incredibly close contest between The Imperial and Supremacy. However, when the two team’s face-off against each other, I can see the French squad edging the victory, in what will likely be an explosive matchup.
