If you know European Call of Duty esports, the home of our beloved scene is at the Norbreck Castle in Blackpool.
However, in recent years, the Copper Box Arena in London’s Olympic Park has hosted three Call of Duty events that have been filled with several memorable moments.
As we draw nearer to CDL London, we're getting very nostalgic - Gfinity's two events at the Copper Box saw memorable moments both on and off the battlefield.
In this article, we take a trip down memory lane and relive the top five moments from G3 and CWL London 2019.

5) Unmatched Co-Ordination from Team Envy
After recently joining the boys in blue, Matt “FormaL” Piper was a relatively fresh face in the Call of Duty esports scene.
Now representing Team Envy, one of the most iconic organisations in the history of CoD esports.
With three seasoned veterans alongside him, Envy asserted its authority on the hometown team (Epsilon Esports) in the Grand Finals of the competition, securing absolute control of the map thanks to FormaL; armed with the Vector submachine gun.
4) A Topless Ghandi
Before becoming a lead designer for upcoming multiplayer shooter Rogue Company, Scott “Ghandi” Lussier was one of the many voices that featured throughout the Ghosts season.
In what escalated extremely quickly, Ghandi took off his shirt while his co-caster Ben “Benson” Bowe looked on in disbelief at what he was seeing.
Benson may have been repulsed by the actions of Ghandi, but the capacity crowd in attendance cheered in delight at Ghandi’s actions.

3) Dashy’s Tempest Spree
Back on Black Ops 4, Brandon “Dashy” Otell was arguably one of the best players to use the Tempest specialist in a game.
When competing against Team Reciprocity back at CWL London, Dashy proved why he was so good with the Tempest, even when it had received a severe nerf before the event
The crowd erupted with a chorus of “Bruce!” ringing around the arena, expressing their appreciation of a play of epic proportions.
2) Simp And His Sniper
Perhaps the most memorable moment from any Call of Duty game held at the Copper Box was young Call of Duty superstar Chris “Simp” Lehr hitting some obscene snipes against 100 Thieves.
The pressure was high for Simp at his first-ever professional CWL event but his gameplay did the talking, proving any doubters very wrong.
Simp manages to take down Priestahh with ease before quickly scoping in on a fast-approaching Slasher, sending the passionate crowd into raptures.
1) The London Crowd
Back at CWL Birmingham in 2018, the Call of Duty esports community got a little taste of what the UK crowd is capable of.
When Call of Duty returned to the Copper Box in 2019, the crowd was the talk of all players and personalities that attended the event.
Throughout every single match, the capacity crowd were in fine voice, showing their support for all teams that competed on the mainstage.
The creativity shown by the chants of the crowd often left the casters in stitches as they attempted to compose themselves while casting the series.
The UK crowd has cemented itself as THE best crowd in Call of Duty esports, often putting the North American fans to shame with their creative chants, outright noise and even batting a beach ball around the arena when a game is taking place.
Although the moments of brilliance in the game are always highlighted, the Copper Box crowd always comes to play when competitive Call of Duty comes to town.
