Thomas "ZooMaa" Paparatto is a support SMG for the New York Subliners. The 24-year-old Italian will feature as part of the New York franchise in the Call of Duty League (CDL) 2020 Season.

ZooMaa is best known for his long stint on FaZe Clan within Call of Duty esports, particularly as part of the team that rivalled OpTic Gaming during the Advanced Warfare season

The 'Italian Stallion' made a name for himself at the age of 18 as a GameBattles S&D superstar that commonly played with pro players. It was in the Call of Duty: Ghosts season that he proved himself as a top performer when he made it onto the Denial roster.

Here's ZooMaa's player profile for the CDL 2020 season.

CDL 2020 Season

For the debut season of the Call of Duty League, ZooMaa will be a part of the New York Subliners - the team consists of:

  • Donovan "Temp" Laroda
  • Lamar "Accuracy" Abedi

  • Thomas "ZooMaa" Paparatto

ZooMaa's History

Despite starting his playing days early on in the Black Ops 2 era, it wasn't until Ghosts that ZooMaa really started to get on the names of players lips.

His online S&D prowess got him his first big break on Denial Esports, where he was joined by longtime teammates VeXed, LegaL and NoXiDe.

In their first outing, they managed to place in the top 11, at which point the Denial CEO released all players except ZooMaa. Next, they acquired Saints and the now-retired StuDyy and Crowder (previously named Replays/Reep).

Their first LAN together at UMG Dallas resulted in a first-place finish, which was ZooMaa's second LAN event. This followed with a 2nd place at UMG Nashville and a top 6 at the COD League Season 3 playoffs.

Advanced Warfare

Advanced Warfare started off well for ZooMaa and Denial, placing 3rd at UMG Orlando; resulting in himself and Saints being picked up by Team Envy.

Life on Team Envy wasn't perfect, joining forces with MerK and NAMELESS didn't produce the results they desired and they exited COD Champs 2015 with a top 12 placement.

ZooMaa's talent was noticed by FaZe Clan and they snapped him up quickly. The team of SlasheR, Enable, Huke and ZooMaa pulled off back-to-back second places before changes were made.

SlasheR and Huke were replaced by Clayster and Attach, both fresh off their first place at COD Champs, this started one of the most intense rivalries between the Red Militia and OpTic Gaming.

FaZe won 3 major championships once this team formed, all three beating OpTic Gaming in the final. Many expected the season to finish strong for FaZe, but they could only manage a top 6 placement at the MLG World Finals.

Black Ops 3

Black Ops 3 was a tough year for FaZe, despite having a very strong squad. The four obviously decided to stick together but struggled to break past a top 4 placement.

The team placed regularly in the money, however, due to regular competition within the pro leagues, they no longer had an advantage over their opponents; losing to teams such as Splyce on a regular basis.

Infinite Warfare

Infinite Warfare was a big improvement, but still not enough for what the team wanted. Their only victory arriving at the PlayStation Experience Invitational, the first Infinite Warfare LAN of the year (many would consider this not a major LAN event).

Three third-place finishes at Las Vegas, Dallas and the Stage 1 playoffs (as well as second in Paris) was not good enough and the team made changes after nearly two years together.

Gunless arrived in place of Clayster, but it wasn't enough to turn their season around as they placed top 6 at both the stage 2 playoffs and COD Champs 2017.

A new year and another change came to the FaZe lineup as Priestahh and Crowder replaced Gunless and Enable for the first boots on the ground COD since 2014.

The year started off well for FaZe with a few top placements, but they were quickly forgotten with a top 8 at Atlanta and top 12 in Birmingham.

Suddenly, FaZe sprung into life in the most mesmerising performance you will ever see in the Stage 1 playoffs; just one week after CWL Birmingham. The team placed first, thanks to ZooMaa's MVP performance.

It was a short-lived high as the team's placings afterwards were below expectation; they soon acquired coach RJ.

It wasn't until the final event of the year, COD Champs 2018, that they picked it up again and placed third - walking away with $100,000

Black Ops 4

Black Ops 4 was a year to forget not only for ZooMaa, but for FaZe as well. The team acquired Methodz as their fifth going into the start of the season, which left them with an awkward top 16 finish at Las Vegas.

The squad quickly replaced Methodz with Cellium for the Pro League Qualifier, in which they again failed to place and did not make it into the pro league.

It wasn't doom and gloom for ZooMaa as he was listed as a substitute for OpTic Gaming; he ended up playing a large portion of games, due to Dashy having visa issues and unable to attend. ZooMaa received a lot of unjust flak for OpTic's poor performances after they had placed first at Las Vegas.

Despite this, OpTic finished the Pro League year in first for their division. It was half-way through the year that an opportunity arose with Red Reserve's collapse. FaZe Clan bought their spot in the pro league and fielded a team full of young talent.

ZooMaa, Cellium, Asim, Skrapz and zer0 did not win anything major in the season, but showed promise with some solid placings throughout; including a third-place at the Pro League playoffs.
