Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: New Update Brings A Tamogotchi Style Virtual Pet

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players can now own a virtual pet (essentially a Tamagotchi) called Tomogunchi. Players will feed their digital buddy, play with it and watch it grow. Here's everything you need to know.

What is Tomogunchi?

Tomogunchi is one of the new additions with the latest updates. It comes in the form of a watch that the in-game operators can strap to their wrists. There is a variety of little monsters to choose from, once you've chosen your pet, it'll start as an egg, once hatched, assuming you'll look after it, your pet can grow and evolve. Make sure to keep it happy!

How does Tomogunchi work?

The only part of this whole strange release that feels 'on-brand' for Call of Duty, is the way you feed your Tomogunchi, how's that you ask? With delicious kills!

Killing will feed your new buddy and upgrade/ make it stronger throughout the course of play.

To put it simply, if you’re on a bad streak, it's not just your killstreak that takes the hit now,  your Tomogunchi could whither and die if you consistently lose matches or play poorly.

You can also give your Tomogunchi sustenance through objective scoring, killstreaks, and wins.

Players looking to kit out their operators with the latest fashion, can also unlock other wristwatch cosmetics.

How can I get a Tomogunchi?

Firstly, it's important to note, players aren't forced to have a Tomogunchi – it's entirely optional.

It's one of the functional wristwatches you can add to your load-out.

As for how to get one, the Tomogunchi is AVAILABLE NOW in the item shop.

It's currently a part of a bundle for 1000 Cod Points.
