RPD Loadout Cold War, Best Attachments, Setup And Class To Use

The RPD is certainly a familiar name for Call of Duty fans and since it made its return in Black Ops Cold War, the LMG has proven hit within multiplayer thanks to its ease of use and deadly damage output.

With Season 5 Reloaded well underway, it's perhaps the most underrated LMG in the entire game, with many players opting to select other weapons that some players may consider to be inferior to the RPD. While this iteration of the RPD may feel different from the weapon that featured in previous titles, it still comes with a lethal rate of fire alongside being very easy to control.

In this guide, find the very best attachments to use which will transform the RPD into one of the strongest weapons in the entire game!

RPD Cold War Loadout

The RPD does fall short in terms of mobility, meaning positioning on the map is all the more important in order to find success.

Thanks to its sustained rate of fire, the damage levels of the RPD are extremely high in mid to long-range engagements, allowing it to contest with assault rifles.

The major selling point of the weapon is the extremely low levels of recoil considering it’s a high-powered LMG, and in the right hands, it can easily swing the momentum of a game in your favour.

RPD Cold War Best Attachments

  • Muzzle Brake 7.62 (Muzzle)
  • 16.9" MACV Division (Barrel)
  • Foregrip (Underbarrel)
  • Tactical Stock (Stock)
  • Quickdraw Handle (Handle

By selecting these attachments, the RPD receives a much-needed boost of speed with an increased aim down sight speed and aiming movement speed.

With a 45-round magazine, additional ammunition isn’t necessary, but if you do find yourself running out of ammo a lot, replace the quickdraw handle with a 65-round mag to minimise the need for any reloading.

RPD: Often overlooked but deadly in the right hands

Best RPD Cold War Class

Secondary

  • AK-74u
    • Muzzle Brake 5.56 (Muzzle)
    • Foregrip (Underbarrel)
    • Tactical Stock (Stock)
    • 40 Round (Magazine)
    • Quickdraw Handle (Handle)

At close quarters, the RPD can sometimes struggle to lock onto its intended target, so I went for a solid AK-74u build to excel in all possible scenarios.

Lethal

  • C4

Ideal for clearing out an objective, C4 is perfect for sticking in an objective, waiting for the perfect time to detonate, and taking out the majority of the team as they attempt to take control!

Tactical

  • Smoke Grenade

Once your position has been discovered by the opposition, it can be very difficult to reposition without being spotted. Pop your smoke to cover your tracks and potentially set up a flank resulting in a clip for the highlight reel.

Field Upgrade

  • SAM Turret

Scorestreaks such as the Attack Helicopter and the Chopper Gunner can take a lot of time to take down without a launcher. Place a SAM Turret in an open area for it to eliminate any enemy streaks in the air so you don’t have to!

Perks

  • Flak Jacket
  • Quartermaster
  • Ninja

This selection of perks is simple, yet very effective when tracking down any opposition. Flak Jacket gives you some increased protection from any lethal equipment, Quartermaster replenishes your supply of utility to provide further damage, and Ninja enables you to sprint quietly, allowing quieter movement across the map.

Wildcard

  • Danger Close

By selecting this wildcard, spawn in with two pieces of lethal and tactical equipment. In this case, an extra piece of C4 and another smoke grenade can prove to be very useful in a number of scenarios.
