Black Ops Cold War: Will Executions Return?

At the multiplayer reveal for Black Ops Cold War, so many details were revealed that stole the headline, we like to shed some light on the smaller things that were confirmed.

Modern Warfare has gone down a bumpy road this year but ultimately has been a huge success in many ways.

While a lot of readers may not agree and probably attribute a lot of the success to Warzone, there's a lot that Modern Warfare brought to the table for the better.

One of those is the execution feature - a funny, unique and often humiliating way to show off and demoralise your opponent.

But will it return in Black Ops Cold War?

Will Executions Return In Black Ops Cold War?

Treyarch has evidently learned a lot from the 2019 title and wisely have added it to their game.

Activision confirmed that the execution feature will return in the next Call of Duty game - Black Ops Cold War.

Executions were heavily tied to Operators, meaning we had different results for different characters.

For example, Captain Price would shoot you in the back of the head and throw his lit cigar on your corpse - how badass is that?

To initiate an execution, you need to do the following:

  • Get behind a player
  • Hold the melee button down
  • You'll see the melee action before transitioning into an execution cutscene

If you could pull one-off, it was a sight to behold. But it could be easily cancelled by enemies killing you before you can finish it.
