The Black Ops Cold War reveal is just around the corner and a new update has been pushed live to Modern Warfare and Warzone.

The Season 5 Reloaded update comes with new goodies and files that dataminers have been quick to uncover.

One of which reveals some of the editions available to pre-order for Black Ops Cold War.

The exciting reveal, in the wake of the PS5 and Xbox Series X's arrival, is the Cross-Gen Bundle.

What Is The Black Ops Cold War Cross-Gen Bundle?

The Cross-Gen Bundle is likely what is sounds like - a version that can be bought to play across both console generations.

Plenty of companies are getting in on the act of making games available to the next generation of consoles for free.

Xbox Series X will introduce the Smart Delivery system, designed specifically for this purpose.

It looks like Activision are getting in on the act and giving players the chance to upgrade right from the get-go.

Call of Duty was met with heavy criticism when Call of Duty: Ghosts released on the Xbox 360, only a few weeks before the Xbox One console would launch; giving players no option to upgrade for a reduced fee.

Now it looks like Activision have considered the opportunity and have acted upon it.

Xbox One And PS4 Release Date

Datamines suggest the game will release on Xbox One, PS5 and PC on the 13th November.

Pre-orders are set to go live on the 26th August.

PS5 And Xbox Series X Release Date

It's currently unknown when the Xbox Series X and PS5 editions will release, but we know the Xbox Series X will launch in November so we can expect it to be after release in late November.

Bonuses & What's Included?

We anticipate the Cross-Gen Bundle will include everything the Standard Edition has but will include the opportunity to upgrade (most likely digitally) to the next-generation version.

How Does It Work?

There's one of two ways it could work:

1. You'll be given a digital download code for the game on PS5 or Xbox Series X
2. The game bundle will be registered to a specific Xbox Live account or PSN account, allowing you to download the game off of the appropriate store once you have the next-generation console.

Progression will carry over as your stats, ranks and cosmetics are saved to your COD Account.

Activision has stated that those who buy the digital standard edition on PS4 or Xbox One will be allowed to upgrade to PS5 or Xbox Series X for $10.
