BO3: Zombies Der Eisendrache Full Trailer Breakdown

BO3: Zombies Der Eisendrache Full Trailer Breakdown

Treyarch have released a full zombie trailer to give players a better look at the Black Ops 3 Awakening DLC map, Der Eisendrache.

Richtofen, Nikolai, Takeo, and Dempsey all return, however, this time around the original crew are dropped into another research facility, as we gain a glimpse into a fraction of the chaos that will ensue.

So what information can be gathered from this trailer? And what new questions arise?

Let’s break the trailer down.

What we know:

  • A gumball machine makes an appearance, so you can expect frequent visits to Dr. Monty’s Factory to obtain the game’s rare and temporary perks.
  • The teleporter can also be seen.
  • More Specialist weapons! In the Giant, players could perform an Easter Egg (remastered from the original Der Riese map) which allowed a fourth gun to be used — the Annihilator specialist gun from multiplayer. Der Eisendrache’s trailer shows the use of Ruin’s gravity spikes and the Sparrow’s Bow.
  • Also, if you pause the video while you see the bow in action, you’ll notice an Apothicon symbol located on the bow itself — which played a big part in the Shadows of Evil map.

There were also several other pieces of the trailer that resembled elements of past zombie maps, while other snippets generated even more questions.

  • A character made a huge jump from one side of the map to another reminiscent to what we saw on Black Ops 2’s Die Rise map with the use of crafted jump pads.
  • While this information was previously teased, the gondola resurfaces as transportation which players may remember from Black Ops 2’s Mob of the Dead.
  • The zombie eating dragon head on the wall resembles something we’ve seen before with the Cerberus heads also found in Mob of the Dead.
  • A rocket! We actually see this in several clips, so could this play a big part on this map? Perhaps part of a new Easter Egg?
  • The Panzer Soldat suit from Origins has returned! But does this return mean a crazy boss fight? Or is this going to help us? Maybe it exists as part of an Easter Egg?
  • An explosive new sniper or perhaps it’s a new Pack-a-Punch element?

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Awakening DLC arrives first on PlayStation 4 on February 2. The content will become available for Xbox One on a later date.
