The Modern Warfare 2 cycle is officially underway much to the excitement of fans dropping into the action. As players begin to master a brand-new arsenal of weapons, there are plenty of new and returning game modes available in Infinity Ward’s latest offering.
Ranging from the classic Team Deathmatch to the brand-new Prisoner Rescue mode, there are game types to suit all styles of play. As attention begins to turn towards the start of season one, it appears more game modes are on the horizon.
A recent leak claims plenty of fan-favourite modes are returning in the not-too-distant future which is great news for those looking for even more ways to play.
More Modern Warfare 2 modes on the way
According to notable Call of Duty leaker @TheGhostOfHope, there are at least five more modes ready for release. One mode that’s caught the attention of players is Uplink, a hugely popular mode from the jetpack era of the franchise.
It’s unclear how Uplink would work in a boots-on-the-ground title but its return is an exciting prospect for those looking for an alternative to the more popular objective modes such as Kill Confirmed and Domination.

In addition to Uplink, the leak claims popular party modes Infected and Gun Game are on their way back to multiplayer. Gun Game sees players attempt to score a kill with 20 weapons. Ranging from assault rifles to the combat knife, the game comes to an end when a player manages to eliminate an opponent with the knife. It’s a great way to see what the Modern Warfare 2 arsenal has to offer.
As always, it’s important to take leaks with a pinch of salt but considering this leaker's impressive track record of correctly revealing information, there’s always a possibility there’s some truth behind the leaks.
