Marvel's Avengers has lofty plans for post-launch support, with all of its upcoming heroes and missions being released for free to all players (other than Spider-Man, who will be a PlayStation exclusive).

While Kate Bishop and Clint Barton form the initial two-character drops as two versions of Hawkeye, it looks as though King T'Challa is up next.

Here's everything we know about the Wakandan ruler's appearance in Square Enix's universe, with the character allegedly being portrayed by Christopher Judge – better known as Kratos in the 2018 God of War reboot.

We'll be adding to this as we hear more.

Here's the official description for Marvel's Avengers Expansion: Black Panther - War for Wakanda.

"Black Panther must defend Wakanda from Klaw, who seeks to steal Vibranium for his own desires."

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, it was revealed that the events of A-Day led to Wakanda closing its borders, and that Black Panther is drawn into the fight due to Ulysses Klaue's attempt to steal Vibranium for George Tarleton (MODOK).

The update will add a new Outpost, Birnin Zana, new missions, and two new villains which we know to be Klaue and Crossbones.

We can expect new enemy types, too.

Abilities

Now that previews are live, we can see what Black Panther offers in his toolkit.

His Support Heroic heals his allies and can damage his enemies, while his Assault Heroic launches a spear that can pin enemies to walls.

Perhaps most exciting is his Ultimate Heroic, which summons a panther god and buffs T'Challa, with further tweaks able to create ethereal Wakandan soldiers to fight, too.

As for getting around, Black Panther will be able to cling to walls – so expect that to be his key movement mechanic, alongside his trademark athleticism.

As for his available gear, we know that it'll be split into the following:

  • Claws
  • Gauntlets
  • Protector
  • Cowl

Seven DLC Characters Leak – February 23

It sounds as though Marvel's Avengers next seven DLC characters have leaked in order, according to dataminer Miller.

  • Clint Barton (Hawkeye)
  • Peter Parker (Spider-Man)
  • King T’Challa (Black Panther)
  • Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk)
  • Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier)
  • Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel)
  • James Rhodes (War Machine)

That suggests Black Panther and Spider-Man have likely switched places.
