Is Deathloop Single Player?

Since its announcement we've known that Deathloop will focus on a pair of assassins locked in conflict on an island where time loops constantly, but you may be wondering if that means the game doesn't offer single-player gameplay.

Is Deathloop Single Player?

Good news, single-player fans. While Colt and Julianna's battle is intertwined, the game is playable without anyone else.

There is, however, an optional ability for a human player to take control of Julianna and mess with Colt - but Arkane noted in our preview that it's entirely optional.

That's not to say it isn't worth a try, though. Playing as Julianna unlocks new customisation options, and while Colt's objective is to stay alive, Julianna is all about playing with style.

Whether you can play with friends or not is another question - we don't yet know if there will be any matchmaking for playing as Julianna, or if you'll just be thrown into a random, active game.

In case you're curious, it's a similar story when it comes to Arkane's next game, Redfall. It has a bigger multiplayer focus than Deathloop, but it's also entirely playable solo.
