Gears of War developer The Coalition has unveiled details on the sixth Operation for Gears of War 5.
Operation 6 will see a wealth of brand-new content added to the game, including a new map, three new characters, new multiplayer game modes, a new Horde event and more.
The new Operation builds on Operation 5, which released in November 2020.

Operation 6 Release Date
In a post published on the official Gears 5 website back in Feburary, Operation 6 gets underway on March 2nd.
The Coalition has listened to player feedback and has announced that Operation 6 will last 11 weeks rather than 16 weeks.
Characters

There will be a total of three new characters arriving to Gears 5 during Operation 6.
Colonel Victor Hoffman makes his return to the fight alongside Queen Reyna, former Chief of Fort Umson who has been resurrected by the Swarm.
The third character appearing is the Locust Zealot who is intent on destroying humanity…
Maps

Operation 6 will see a brand-new map added to the Gears 5 map pool.
Speyer from Gears of War 4 will be making an appearance, and with a variety of chokepoints encouraging plenty of close-quarters combat, the action is going to be fast and furious!
Game Modes
Versus: Control
Launching at the beginning of the Operation is a brand-new game mode known as Control.
Control is a variant of the classic ring objective modes where the main objective is to capture an area and remain within the confines of the point to score points for the team.
Ranked
The start of a new Operation means an all-new season of Ranked!
Team Deathmatch, Free for All – 8 Players, King of the Hill and 2v2 Gnashers playlists will be staying but there will be plenty of brand-new rewards for players to earn.
Horde
Escape From Kadar
A new Horde event is arriving at the start of the Operation.
Escape from Kadar will feature all-new enemies for players to conquer across ten waves of action-packed gameplay.
For the first time in Gears 5, Locust enemies will be returning to Horde so be sure to man the defences to survive!
