Final Fantasy 14 just keeps on trucking, with the game now one of the finest MMOs around.

Square Enix has finally revealed the game's latest expansion, Endwalker – the fourth major content drop.

Here's everything we know about the expansion, including new jobs, story details, and the new level cap.

Release Date

The Endwalker expansion is coming later this year, with Square Enix announcing it will launch on November 23, 2021.

Story

As per a new PlayStation Blog post:

"We’re back on the Source following our adventures in the First, but as might be expected, an even greater calamity was brewing in our absence. Endwalker will feature the climax of the long-running Hydaelyn and Zodiark story arc, which is not only exciting for our veteran players but also means it’s a great time for new players to jump in and enjoy the amazing story leading up to Endwalker’s release!"

New Jobs

The Sage and Reaper jobs have been revealed as the new jobs for the expansion

New Healer Class - Sage

Shown in the trailer as the new Class for Alphinaud Levelleur, this job will focus on healing and using shields to defend allies while using the new weapons, the Nouliths, to channel aether and attack foes.


New DPS Class - Reaper

Shown in the trailer as the new Class for Zenos Yae Galvus, this new melee DPS will be armed with a scythe as their weapon of choice, and have the ability to summon Voidsent Avatars to aid them in combat.

New Race Variants

Two new gender variants of the Hrothgar and the Viera will be introduced in Endwalker and after its release. Male Viera will release with the expansion, and Female Hrothgar will be added at a later point after release.

New Content

Not only with players be able to visit Thavnair and the region of Garlemald, but the Moon will also be included, alongside the new city of Old Sharlayan. New expansive areas will be included, such as the Labyrinthos and Mare Lamentorum.

A new mode called Island Sanctuary will be added, which will see players working on their own island with their gathering classes on a more chill version of the game. At the same time, a new residential area will open in Ishgard.

Two brand new tribes, the Loporrits and the Matanga Arkasodara, will be added with the expansion along with their respective Tribe Quests.

A new high-end raid series titled Pandæmonium, and a Final Fantasy XIV-original alliance raid series, known as Myths of the Realm will also be added, and The Magnus Sisters will be a new threat that players will have to face.

Players can also expect new dungeons, a new PvP mode, battle adjustments, updates to the Gold Saucer, and more.

Level Cap Increase

The game's level cap is jumping from 80 to 90. If you want to get prepared and max our your classes before Endwalker releases, you can pre-order the expansion to obtain the Menphina Earring, which will boost the EXP you gain up until level 80.
