There are several different types of fruit in New Horizons, most of which are found in the same way. While this does require some random chance on the player's part, the process can be enjoyable.

Finding oranges in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

To start, you'll need 2000 Nook Miles. Complete the game's many objectives to earn these, then spend them at a Nook Point to buy a Nook Miles Ticket. Once you have it, head to Dodo Airlines, and you'll be whisked away to another island.

On this new island, you can explore and find different objects. Some of these objects will be fruit trees. Your job here is to look for fruit you don't already have. After you find a new fruit, stay on that island and begin the process of chopping down the tree. These islands tend to be randomly assigned fruit so it will come down to luck.

Once you find an orange tree, give it a shake and eat the oranges that fall. This will strengthen your character enough to uproot the tree with a single shovel dig.

All done? Great, just head back to the plane, return to your island with your new tree, and plant it – giving you oranges all year round. You can also plant even more orange trees, producing many oranges and keeping your belly full of the delectable fruit.
