After the disastrous release of 2019’s WWE 2K20, 2K Games and Visual Concepts cancelled WWE 2K21 to make WWE 2K22 the best wrestling game it can be. Understandably, fans are hoping this latest installment won’t be your typical WWE 2K game.

Since a reveal last year, WWE 2K22 news has gradually trickled out, and this next entry is certainly looking intriguing. After a massive leak hit, 2K finally unleashed official details regarding WWE 2K22. Here's what we've seen:

WWE 2K22 DLC Pack Names - March 7, 2022

Fans who got WWE 2K22 early and purchased either the Season Pass via the Digital Deluxe Edition or the NWO-4-Life edition had the DLC pack names revealed to them early.

WWE 2K22 Roster Reveal - February 27, 2022

2K finally unveiled the base roster for WWE 2K22, excluding the DLC characters. To the surprise of many, numerous released superstars made it into the game, including current AEW stars like Kyle O'Reilly, Keith Lee, and Murphy (now Buddy Matthews).

There's some surprising omissions too like Lita (who just had a major program with Becky Lynch), The Bella Twins, Indi Hartwell, L.A. Knight, and modern-day superstars. We could see some of these wrestlers as future DLC, since the WWE 2K22 Season Pass has five DLC packs.

WWE 2K22 Ringside Report #1: Gameplay Deep Dive - February 2, 2022

The WWE 2K YouTube channel has announced a new Ringside Report series that will give us more details about how things truly "hit different." In the series' first installment, we get a gameplay deep dive on how the new controls work, along with footage of several entrances and superstars.

WWE 2K22 Booyaka Gameplay Trailer Released - January 30, 2022

2K Games released a new "Booyaka" gameplay trailer for WWE 2K22, showing a couple of matches in action. Some animations look recycled from previous games, but the devs did say it "hits" different, so playing WWE 2K22 might be a completely different story.

While gameplay doesn't look too different, we did get our first look at Brock Lesnar's new character model, complete with a new ponytail and beard. Aside from the 2022 Royal Rumble winner, we also saw Sami Zayn, Damien Priest, Eddie Guerrero, and Rey Mysterio's WrestleMania 21 gear from his Showcase Mode.

WWE 2K22 File Size Unveiled - January 27, 2022

WWE 2K22's download size on PS5 has been confirmed. According to PlayStation Game Size, that'll require 47.229 GB. As for the other platforms, we'll make sure to update this page once there will be information regarding their respective file sizes.

The tweet also stated that pre-loading for the game on PS5 begins on March 9. Should you opt for the Deluxe version, that's available on March 6 instead.

WWE 2K22 Cover Star and Release Date Revealed - January 20, 2022

2K Games finally revealed the WWE 2K22 release date and cover star Rey Mysterio in a brand-new trailer, which can be seen below.

WWE 2K22 is coming out on March 11 but anyone who gets the Deluxe Edition can play three days early on March 8.

New WWE 2K22 Gameplay Trailer - November 19, 2021

Because 2K “couldn’t help themselves,” they released the first WWE 2K22 gameplay trailer early, calling it the “Hit List.” Sadly, it does not feature a pre-recorded message from The Hurt Business, though Bobby Lashley’s character model does appear.

New WWE 2k22 Behind the Scenes Series Announced - May 10, 2021

Take-Two announced a new, multi-part behind-the-scenes series giving a look at WWE 2K22's development process, with the first episode coming soon. The series will live on Twitter and Instagram and will run for several weeks.

Will WWE 2K22 Have Any New/Returning Game Features?

WWE 2K22 has confirmed that General Manager Mode will be returning, now called MyGM. Additionally, there's also a new feature called MyFaction, which appears to replace the "Road to Glory" mode by letting players form a team of superstars and earn various rewards.

Is WWE 2K22 Coming To New-Gen Consoles?

WWE 2K22 is coming natively to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Fans have already seen what WWE 2K games can do on PS4 and Xbox One, with results varying between entries, but a big debut on new-gen consoles seems a given.
