Melty Blood Type Lumina Noel vs Michael Roa Valdamjong Gameplay Showcase

As seen in the trailer, this gameplay reveal showcased a duel between Noel and Michael Roa Valdamjong. Both these characters have alot to show due to their current status in the Melty Blood series. Unlike most of the reveals, Noel is a new character in the Melty Blood. Many new players and longtime fans want to see what else she can do and she delivered well in this gameplay showcase.

On the other end, Michael Roa Valdamjong was one of the best character picks in the past iterations of Melty Blood due to his options that allowed him to limit enemy movement with his projectiles. However, his appearance in Melty Blood Type Lumina does not appear to have these strong moves but carried over his other moves which make him a fighter with fast moves to approach and deny his foes when they attack.

Noel's Limited Daggers and Roa's Lightning Attacks

Additionally, the gameplay showcase featured both unique fighting styles of Noel and Roa. On Noel's end, this character has a limited arsenal of nine throwable daggers per round. Compared to other characters with more options to throw out magic powers, Noel's daggers does have it perks that both new players and experienced playerbase can appreciate.

In fights, Noel can throw daggers not only on the floor but also in midair. Alternatively, she can also use an explosive dagger which can launch enemies on hit. When the daggers are blocked, Noel retains a frame advantage up close which can help her impatient foes who are too giddy to land a combo.

Lastly, she can also use her Arc Drive super to followup these daggers if it connects.

On the other end, Michael Roa Valdamjong's attacks and special moves are themed well with his lightning attacks. All of his actions look fast which are great options to start Roa's offense and even shut his foe's down if they keep using slow attacks or miss their attacks entirely.

Shield Wins Against Heat Activation

Lastly, the gameplay showcase also featured a unique interaction with the defensive Shield parry and the explosive blast from activating Heat. Normally, the Heat activation in Melty Blood can be used defensively as its activation triggers a harmless explosion with far pushback if it connects on his foe. Players can rely on this move to stop an enemy's offense if Heat is activated at the right time.

However, players also have an option to punish this activation with Shield if enemies get too predictable in relying on this move. Players can parry the Heat blowback blast with Shield and punish their foe with a good combo on their own.
