Square Enix made the announcement on the official Guardians of the Galaxy Twitter account with a brief teaser trailer. Adam, also known as "Him," is an equally mysterious figure in Marvel comics, simultaneously a villain and hero depending on the situation and who is influencing him.

Other Guardians of the Galaxy characters that were revealed already for the game include the original five - Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot.

Adam Warlock's game reveal followed the Marvel Cinematic Universe introduction of Maze Runner and Black Mirror star Will Poulter as Adam Warlock in the upcoming film Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Director James Gun himself confirmed the news in his Twitter account.

We had a chance to go hands-on with Guardians of the Galaxy recently and came away impressed with its worldbuilding, even if combat and production values left something to be desired.
