Marvel’s Avengers’ War For Wakanda might have leaked Loki, Scarlet Witch, And Doctor Strange playable characters

Crystal Dynamics' Marvel's Avengers game released it's War for Wakanda expansion earlier this week and already fans are starting to find some interesting teasers hinting at some future playable characters.

Fans have noticed some interesting dialogue appearing in the game from Zawavari. At first players believed this might have been a sort of glitch, however, it would seem as though that's not actually the case.

It would seem Zawavari is actually communicating - telepathically or through a portal? - with these characters.

So far players have noticed voice lines that mention Loki, Doctor Stranger, Wanda Maximoff (aka Scarlet Witch), Wong, Pietro, and Daniel Drumm.

Thiis appears to have been first spotted by Reddit User FWM_Carlton who ran into the room as Thor, only to be greeted with Zawavari saying, “Well, this is a pleasant surprise, Wanda.”

For those interested, some of the other voice lines read:

• Doctor. You do not call me often. How is New York?
• Talk to your brother Daniel. He is more familiar with death than I
• Back again Lie-Smith? I do enjoy our visits
• Not all gods started as Gods, Wong

There's also some reports of players hearing Zavawari reference Spider-Man during these same conversations/voice lines. However, at the time of writing there doesn't appear to be any video proof in the same way as the above.

That said, it wouldn't be the craziest thing in the world. We know that Spider-Man is coming to Marvel's Avengers at some point in the future, potentially before the end of 2021, so we know the web-slinger is indeed coming eventually.

It's also worth noting that when Marvel's Avengers was first released a rather significant datamine found evidence of several characters coming to the game. This included the likes of Captain Marvel, War-Machine, She-Hulk, and The Winter Soldier, none of which are mentioned in War for Wakanda. Although, none of these characters are named at any point during War for Wakanda.

What is significant is that both Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch have previously been hinted at in the game before. What's more, Doctor Strange is also active (along with many more unreleased characters) in the book 'Marvel’s Avengers: The Extinction Key' by Greg Keyes.

The book is an official prequel to the video game and was released alongside the game last August, but the audiobook comes out next week (hat tip to @mmmmmmmmiller for the heads up).

Hopefully, these are broader teases towards some of the new content we could see coming to the game in 2022.
