Marvel's Avengers has lofty plans for post-launch support, with all of its upcoming heroes and missions being released for free to all players – except for one.
That character is Spider-Man, arguably Marvel's most famous (and popular hero). While he'll be available for free, he'll only be appearing on PS4 and PS5 since Sony and Crystal Dynamics have agreed an exclusivity arrangement.
Still, if you're on one of those platforms, here's everything you need to know.
Marvel's Avengers Black Panther DLC: Everything We Know So Far

Next Seven DLC Characters Leak – February 23
It sounds as though Marvel's Avengers next seven DLC characters have leaked in order, according to dataminer Miller.
- Clint Barton (Hawkeye)
- Peter Parker (Spider-Man)
- King T’Challa (Black Panther)
- Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk)
- Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier)
- Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel)
- James Rhodes (War Machine)
That suggests Black Panther and Spider-Man have likely switched places.
Release Date
While we had expected Black Panther to be the next addition, it sounds as though those plans have been altered.
Spider-Man was expected in early 2021, but it's likely these plans will have shifted following Hawkeye's delay.
Hopefully, we'll hear soon.
Abilities
With his incredible athleticism, it's likely Spidey will be able to hold his own with enemies up close, with his Spider-Sense likely working as his blocking variant.
He's also likely to have ranged capabilities too, with his web slingers, but we'll update this as we know more.
In terms of traversal, it seems pretty obvious that Spider-Man will be able to swing from point to point, likely in a way that resembles Black Widow's grappling hook.
New Region
While Wakanda is apparently coming as part of Black Panther's DLC, could we go to Manhattan for Spidey's?
Time will tell, of course, but we're a little bored of the same Eastern Seaboard region.
Trailers
Alas, we don't have a trailer for the character yet, but as soon as we do, we'll add it here.
