Life Is Strange True Colors: Tell Gabe Or Keep Ethan's Secret Choice Explained
The first time you meet Ethan he will tell you that he plans to head to the mines that evening. If you've been keeping an eye on the flyers around town, you know that there is a scheduled blast happening soon, which would obviously put Ethan in danger. Let's take a look at what happens with each choice. Spoilers ahead for the end of Chapter 1. If you'd rather stay unspoiled, just pick the Tell Gabe option. It will cause less trouble for you later on.
If you choose to tell Gabe about Ethan's plan he will call Charlotte and tell her to pick Ethan up. This will put you in Gabe and Charlotte's good books. Ethan may hold a grudge, but it doesn't really play into any dialogue that I found in the rest of the game. Unfortunately, Ethan sneaks out anyway, making the events that happen at the end of the chapter unavoidable. You'll at least be in good favor with Gabe and Charlotte.
Keep Ethan's Secret
If you choose to keep Ethan's Secret you will essentially let Ethan wander up to the mines alone. He'll do that regardless, but Gabe will be disappointed with you when you read his thoughts later on. It's not a huge consequence, but one that can easily be avoided by choosing the other option.
