Lemnis Gate Beta Opens Soon Ahead of Full August Release

Maybe you haven’t heard of Canadian developer Ratloop Games before, but with Lemnis Gate just around the corner, that might change soon.

Lemnis Gate promises a “revolutionary” experience with its unique spin on the multiplayer shooter.

For one thing, it adds a fourth dimension to reality.

For another, it’s a turn-based FPS that unfolds across a time loop where you only have 25 seconds to make your choice.

If that sounds like your kind of shooter, then you’re in luck: Ratloop announced the Lemnis Gate beta will go live later in July.

Lemnis Gate is slated for release on August 3, 2021.

Lemnis Gate will release on PC and all consoles except Nintendo Switch.

Lemnis Gate Beta Date

The beta begins July 18 at 6 p.m. BST/1 p.m. EST and runs through July 26 at the same time.

You'll have access to all seven operatives and the Retrieve XM and Domination game modes.

Retrieve XM

• Retrieve XM tasks you with retrieving XM and bringing it back to your spawn point. Whoever has secured the most XM by the end of the final round will be declared the winner

Domination

• Domination tasks you with activating and claiming Particle Accelerators spread across the map. The winner is decided by who controls the most Accelerators at the end of the final round.

These are the maps available during the Lemnis Gate beta:

• Quarry (Retrieve XM)
• Tectonic Wells (Retrieve XM)
• The Arbor (Domination)
• Chimera (Domination)

And these are the match types you can expect:

1v1 Turn Based - Each player takes turns adding operatives into the time loop

• 2v2 Turn Based - Each player takes turns adding operatives into the time loops one at a time in teams of 2
• 2v2 Teammates Play Together - Both players act at the same time on one team, and then the other team get to do the same on their turn.
• 1v1 Turn Based local – Play with your friends at home either by swapping seats or passing the controller back and forth!
• 2v2 Turn Based Local – Play with your friends at home either by swapping seats or passing the controller between all 4 of you!
