Legends of Runeterra Rise of the Underworlds Expansion: Release Date, Champions, New Cards, Keyword and Everything We Know

Legends of Runeterra is a firm favourite among digital trading card games, bringing Riot's League of Legends franchise and universe into a whole new genre without skipping a beat.

Each new expansion adds fresh mechanics, more champions, and new cards to collect, and the next one, Rise of the Underworlds, is right around the corner.

Here's everything we know so far.

Rise of the Underworlds Expansion Release Date

The expansion lands on June 30, alongside the game's 2.11.0 and a balance patch. You can find the patch notes here.

Rise of the Underworlds Expansion New Champions

While we haven't seen their cards yet, we know the following will make an appearance in the expansion.

  • Ekko
  • Pyke
  • Rek'Sai

So far, Riot has only teased a few cards for the expansion, two of which have the new 'Lurk' keyword (more on that in a moment).

  • Xer'Sai Hatchling: 1/1, Fearsome, Lurk (1 Cost)
  • Snapjaw Swarm: 0/2, Lurk, Play: I start a free attack (2 Cost)
  • Fallen Feline: 2/1, When I'm summoned, create a Hexite Crystal in the bottom 10 cards of your deck (1 Cost)
  • Hexite Crystal (Fast Spell): If you see me in a Prediction, draw me. Deal 2 to enemies and the enemy Nexus (2 Cost)

More cards will be revealed via Mobalytics and Dak.GG in the run-up to the expansion.

Rise of the Underworlds Expansion Keyword: Lurk

This expansion's keyword is 'Lurk', and the description reads as follows:

'When you attack while i'm on top of your deck, I lurk, granting lurker allies everywhere +1/+0. Max once per round.'
