Within League of Legends' recently released patch 11.21, Riot Games made headlines by announcing that League's all-chat function will be removed, as a means of tackling toxicity from players.
It's a move which surprised many players, including popular LOL streamer Tyler1, who expressed his thoughts on his Twitch stream. Stating his opinion about the new changes implemented by Riot, he said:
“The problem I have with it is, bro, how rated-G is this community, and this company. Bro, you can mute the all-chat. On a fresh account, it comes disabled. You have to enable it. That’s the problem I have. So if you’re ever triggered by toxic chat, you can just mute it, and you’ll never see it again. So that’s the problem I have with it.
“Also, the second problem I have with it, them saying they are not going to have all-chat means that this game is 100% never getting voice chat. Ever.”

Tyler1 Criticises League of Legends’s Removal of Chat in Latest Patch
Tyler1 is a known supporter of putting voice chat into the game. However, with this all-chat function now disabled, it's unlikely that incorporating this into LoL happen anytime soon.
Despite the different opinions circulating around this move, Riot's aim of having a toxic-free gaming environment is their primary goal. As seen on their recent blogpost, their statement reads:
"We believe the tradeoff is worth it to cut down on the growing negativity /all chat has been creating in your games.”
