Vex, the Gloomist, is now available on League's live servers

[Original Story] - In 2021 so far League of Legends has added three new champions. This includes Viego The Ruined King, Gwen The Hallowed Seamstress and Akshan the Rogue Sentinel. Up next, for our fourth addition of the year is a brand new Yordle champion known as 'Vex: The Gloomist'.

This is our first Yordle champion in well over 5 years, joining the 14 existing Yordle champions who are already available.

Riot recently dropped a new Trailer on YouTube for the highly speculated Vex and we finally have plenty of new info about this grumpy Champion.

Whilst we wait for the release of Vex, one fan has spent some time creating a concept skin for the new Yordle champion based on the existing Cosmix range of skins. They look pretty nifty. Take a look below:

Vex: The Gloomist

Vex is a yordle champion in League of Legends, designed along the lines of a classic mage. Vex is set to become the first yordle champion to be introduced in LoL since 2016. Although Vex was initially designed as an artillery mage, the developers changed their goals and made the champion work like a classic mage instead.

Release Date

Riot Games has officially confirmed that Vex will be released on the 22nd September 2021. Vex shall be introduced to the game with the release of League of Legends 11.19 patch. However, players can try out the new champion on the PBE servers once the 11.19 PBE cycle begins.

[Original Story] - According to a previous release from Riot Games, it was mentioned that Vex will be released during the month of September. Here's what Reav3, Lead Producer of Champions Team for League of Legends said about it,

"As long as everything goes as planned, Vex should be coming out in September. We're working on getting her source of power (aka her shadow) just right in-game, which is why she's releasing a bit after the Sentinels of Light event. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy getting to know the gloomy yordle who holds a special place in our goth kid hearts"

Shadow flies forward, marking and dealing magic damage to the first enemy champion hit. Vex can then recast this ability to have Shadow pull her to the marked target, dealing additional magic damage.
If the marked target dies within a short time of taking damage from Shadow Surge, Vex can cast Shadow Surge again within a few seconds.

What Lane is Vex?

Although Riot Games hasn't confirmed the champion's role in League of Legends yet, it can be expected that Vex will be a mid-lane mage. Considering the fact that we already received a physical damage mid-lane champion in the form of Akshan, it is safe to say that Vex will be a magic damage dealing mid-lane champion.
