As of the moment of the writing, there are now 156 champions in total for LOL.

Akshan is the 156th champion who joined the still-growing roster of champions in the game. He joins the Assassins role or category, which now has 21 champions in total.

As for the other categories or roles in the game, you might want to take a look at all of them who comprise the 156-champion pool in League of Legends:

  • Assassins – 21
  • Fighters/Brawlers – 38
  • Mages – 45
