Naughty Dog Is Remaking The Last Of Us On PS5, Report Claims

A remake of The Last Of Us is poised to release on PlayStation 5 at some point in the future a new report by Bloomberg claims.

Informed journalist Jason Schreier is behind the latest Bloodberg report which goes on to detail that a remake of Last of Us has recently switched from a support studio to Naughty Dog who is now overseeing the project.

The original Last of Us game released on the PS3 in June 2013 before later being ported to the PS4 several months later. To this day though, it's still considered one of the best releases ever made.

For the time being, there's no official word on a PS5 remake of the game, but VGC reports that at one stage it was envisaged that a PS5 remake could be packaged with The Last of Us 2 in the future.

The same Bloomberg report also suggests that Days Gone 2 has reportedly been shelved by Sony.

Allegedly Sony Interactive Entertainment has passed on the option to release a sequel to Days Gone. It's believed that despite being profitable, Days Gone 2 was not greenlit due to production issues and critical reception.

The report goes on to detail that following the decision led to one team at Sony Bend was later assigned to help Naughty Dog with a multiplayer game.

This is likely the Last of Us Factions Mode, which was actually leaked back in August when some footage surfaced.
