The Last of Us Part 2 is undoubtedly one of this year's finest titles and sure to be remembered long into the new console generation, but the game could also be getting a PS5 upgrade to carry it into the next.

According to a Best Buy listing, a new physical copy of the PS4 title advertises that it "includes next-gen upgrade".

The Last of Us Part 2: PS5 Version Coming Soon?

This perhaps shouldn't be too much of a surprise given Sony's support for first-party titles making the generational jump to PS5.

Not only have the likes of God of War (2018) and Days Gone been added to the PlayStation Plus Collection with PS5 enhancements, but this year's other first-party tentpole release, Ghost of Tsushima, now runs at 60 frames-per-second on the PS5.

At present, the only bells and whistles that the PS5 adds to The Last of Us Part 2 are improved haptic feedback using the Dualsense.

Since neither Sony or Naughty Dog has commented, there's every chance Best Buy's information is incorrect.

Still, with so many of Sony's first-party titles getting resolution boosts and improved frame-rates, it seems unlikely that arguably the PS4's crown jewel would be left behind (see what we did there?).
