The Last of Us 2 finally launches on June 19, 2020 – meaning we're just over two weeks away from reconnecting with Ellie and Joel.
With the game coming seven years after the original, a new interview with GQ has shed some light on what Naughty Dog could work on next.

Will Naughty Dog's next game be The Last of Us Part 3?
Speaking to GQ, creative director and studio vice president Neil Druckmann discussed the process behind what comes next.
“As you start wrapping things up, creatively there are fewer and fewer responsibilities and my mind can’t help but think about the next thing,” he explains.
“So yeah, the next thing could be a Part 3, the next thing could be some new IP.”
That might disappoint Uncharted fans looking for another pulp-action romp, but the team has certainly shown they can craft fresh narratives and keep us guessing.
Druckmann also explained that the upcoming HBO adaptation of The Last of Us "really lets us focus on the characters and the drama and show you other aspects of those characters".
