The Last of Us 2: How To Swing On A Rope


The Last of Us 2 is finally here, and if you picked it up at launch you're likely sneaking your way through Seattle.

Ellie offers a higher degree of mobility than Joel, and a big part of that is verticality. Rope climbing and rope swinging is a key part of traversal at certain points, so here's how to get the most out of them.

The Last of Us Part 2 Rope Swinging Guide

Rope swinging is predominantly set up during scripted sequences, where you'll need to throw a rope over a horizontal surface to be able to swing to hard-to-reach areas.

That means, for the most part, you simply won't need to set up the rope.

That said, you can climb and swing ropes already in the world. To do so, press X to jump and Ellie will grab the rope where possible.

She can then climb ropes more quickly with R1 and up or down.
