How To Unlock the Aviary Enclosures for Flying Reptiles

In campaign mode, you need to complete the first 3 sections of the story missions. You will unlock the aviary enclosures and the flying reptiles as soon as you start the Oregon mission, which is the 4th story section.

As soon as the story section begins, your first task will be to build an aviary enclosure and an aviary hatchery. To do this, you need to head to your enclosures section where you can choose to build fences and ranger posts. On here, you should now see two extra sections have been added.

Click on either aviary dome or aviary hatchery. You will need to complete the research for the buildings first and this means you will need to assign scientists to them. Once you've assigned your scientists, the research should be completed fairly quickly. You do not need to research both buildings, if you research one then you will also unlock the other at the same time.

After the research has been completed, you can now start to build your aviary enclosure. To do this, click on aviary dome again and place it down. You will see that the dome has arrows pointing out of certain parts of it and this is where you can attach another dome to extend the aviary. A lot of flying reptiles can live together so it's a good idea to extend the aviary as much as you can.

Once you are satisfied with your domes, you need to attach an aviary hatchery to any section of it. The aviary enclosure will not be operational until you do this. After you attach an aviary hatchery to a dome, you will need to connect a path to it and you will need to assign a Ranger Team to it.

To assign a Ranger Team, simply click on the Ranger Team and select "Add Task". Click on the hatchery and the Ranger Team will continuously check on the flying reptiles inside the enclosure using a drone.

Once the enclosure is operational, you will then be able to take delivery of flying reptiles.

What Is an Aviary?

An aviary is a type of specialist enclosure that is designed to comfortably and safely house any flying reptiles that come to your park/facility. They are different from simple fence enclosures as Ranger Teams will use drones to check on the welfare of the dinosaurs and there is a roof to stop them from flying away.

There are many types of dinosaurs that you will encounter in Jurassic World Evolution 2 and all of them have unique needs that you need to cater for. If you've got some land-based dinosaurs then we have a guide that shows you how to perform status checks. Also, we have a guide that shows you how to treat an injured dinosaur.
