Injustice 3 is reportedly in early development at NetherRealm according to known industry insider and leaker Daniel Richtman.

Richtman revealed on his Patreon (via We Got This Covered) that the project is one of the next titles the studio moved to after finishing up post-launch content for Mortal Kombat 11.

When it comes to extra information, Richtman doesn't share any but Injustice 3 does seem like a logical project for the studio, especially as they are owned by Warner Bros.

You might be wondering where this puts NetherRealm's rumoured Marvel fighting game in the picture. Well, back before the launch of Mortal Kombat 11, Ed Boon hinted that he had talked with Marvel about making a fighting game and the recent rumours have suggested that this will be the studio's next project.

Therefore, with Injustice 3 in early development, that Marvel fighting game may come first, with NetherRealm shifting back to their DC roots fairly soon after to keep fans of the Injustice series happy.

There is also the possibility that both these titles are actually one and the studio is developing a Marvel vs. DC fighting game which would be possible if both Warner Bros. and Disney agreed.

Either way, you should expect NetherRealm's next game to not be the gore-fest that is Mortal Kombat, opting for Injustice's approach to brutality.
