Steelrising release date, time, platforms, and more

If you're looking for the Steelrising release date, this is everything we know. After being teased for over a year, it's finally right around the corner. Though with a small beta and some preorder awards, there are some things you should know.

As well as going over the release date, we go through the platforms it is launching on, how to preorder the game and what you get for getting the game early. Needless to say, there are lots of questions lingering around this launch and we aim to answer them.

Steelrising release date and time

Steelrising is set to launch on September 8. That's a Thursday. We don't yet know what the exact release time is, but we have a guess based on platform choices and past games.

What time does Steelrising release?

Generally, when it comes to consoles, we can expect a midnight launch. Steam takes a little while to get going and will likely go live just a few hours after midnight. If you go to boot up the game and it won't work, just come back in a few hours. Here are the release times for Spiders' previous game, Greedfall, which should add a little context to our educated guess.

Steelrising platforms

Steelrising is launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. It will not be coming to the previous generation consoles, likely to allow for increased graphical fidelity and framerate.

There are currently no plans for a Nintendo Switch launch and it seems unlikely it would one day arrive. If it does eventually launch there, it seems likely it will be a cloud version only, just like the recent release of Thymesia.

Steelrising preorder information

If you preorder the standard edition of the game, you will get the game itself, plus early access to the game's beta. This will include the first two levels and is currently live. This means, that if you want to play the game, you already can. If, however, you want something more impressive, you can buy the Bastille Edition.

This comes with the game and the Discus Chain Weapon from launch. It also comes with the Cagliostro's Secrets extensions, a new DLC planned to launch in November 2022. It will come with a new area, new enemy class, new boss, new weapons, and a cosmetic pack. It seems bigger than an update and smaller than a full-on expansion.
