SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake platforms

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is due to release natively on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. However, it will of course also be playable via backwards compatibility on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Interestingly, there doesn't seem to be native next-gen versions of this game at launch. Instead, you won't be able to harness the increased power of those new systems, instead just making do with their previous-gen counterparts.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake gameplay

In terms of gameplay, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a 3D platformer quite similar to Battle for Bikini Bottom before it. You'll travel across seven worlds based within the existing SpongeBob world, all based around a multiverse concept.

Since we haven't seen too much of the game in action, some elements of its gameplay are still fairly mysterious. Rest assured you'll be bouncing across puzzle worlds, battling enemies, and probably catching jellyfish along the way. On top of that, there are tens of costumes to unlock for SpongeBob, based on key moments from the series.
