Though we've not seen a new home console entry since 2012's PS3 port for House of the Dead 4, Sega has slowly kept this classic on-rails shooter series alive.
Between Typing of the Dead: Overkill and House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn, last week's Indie World Showcase from Nintendo gave us a new surprise. Though it was previously announced in 2019, Forever Entertainment's remake is coming later this year, but it might not be a Switch exclusive.
That House Of The Dead Remake Announced By Nintendo? It'll Likely Be Multiplatform
Presently only confirmed for Switch, fans have been looking over Forever Entertainment's previous financial reports, and their 2019 annual report advises of a multiplatform release. If that's still the case, we can expect it on Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Google Stadia and PC - via the Epic Games Store and Steam - too.
Now, plans can change, so this shouldn't be taken as an outright confirmation just yet. However, their recent Panzer Dragoon Remake was also multiplatform and arrived first on Switch, before receiving a staggered release across other consoles. Chances are, we'll likely see a repeat of that strategy.
