Latest Horizon Zero Dawn Patch Fixes PS5 Backwards Compatibility Crashes


Horizon Zero Dawn got a new update during last month's Gamescom: Opening Night Live. Adding 60fps support into Guerrilla Games' 2017 action-RPG, that softening the blow of Forbidden West's delay into February 2022. Now, they've released a follow-up patch.

Calling this Patch 1.54, this isn't anything too major, though it does fix some issues present when playing Zero Dawn on PS5 via backwards compatibility. Resolving some crashing issues, that also fixes the FOV slider in Photo Mode and some audio problems that occur during cinematics.

Latest Horizon Zero Dawn Patch Fixes PS5 Backwards Compatibility Crashes

As posted by Guerrilla Games on Reddit, here's the patch notes for Version 1.54:

  • Fixed an issue where some cinematics did not have any audio on external audio devices when running on a PS5™ console in backwards compatibility mode
  • Fixed the FOV slider in Photo Mode
  • Fixed several crashes when running on a PS5™ console in backwards compatibility mode
