Halo Master Chief Collection Multiplayer Could Get a Huge Change

343 Industries wants to make Halo Master Chief Collection multiplayer bigger - potentially much bigger.

During an episode of an Xbox Twitch stream (thanks GameSpot), 343 producer Sean Swidersky said the development team is looking for ways to make Halo MCC multiplayer matches even better.

Specifically, they want to bring the player count higher than the current 16-player limit.

Swidersky said “Halo's epic, if we can add more people, which, again, you can, but obviously performance and some of the other consoles...if we can add that kind of stuff to go higher than 16 players in these classic games, hell get up to 40, 60, you know what I mean? That'd be wild.”

Halo Master Chief Collection Multiplayer Could Get a Huge Change

Of course, that’s not a guarantee we’ll see 60-player Halo MCC matches.

Halo Infinite’s multiplayer promises a free and massive experience and presumably is taking a fair bit of 343’s resources.

However, 343 has been updating the MCC in small ways for years, including FOV slider support, visual upgrades, and new seasons of content, so it’s not entirely out of the question.

And it would be quite a feat if it did happen, seeing as Halo Infinite will only have 48 players on the field at a given time.
