PlayStation 5 is coming this year, and there's no denying that the console's design has been divisive - but could swappable faceplates change your mind?
Thanks to a recent ResetEra post, we've seen a detached PS5 faceplate that looks to be made for snapping on and off of the console itself.
Will PlayStation 5 Offer Swappable Faceplates?
User Lant_War shared the image below, which you can find on ResetEra here.
The PlayStation console line has traditionally been black going back to the PS2, meaning the PS5's "inside out Oreo" design took plenty by surprise. With the potential for swappable plates, there's a chance we'll be able to change the console's colour as and when we want to.
We're curious to know if the Dualsense controller will also offer swappable "faces", especially given that SCUF's third-party offerings allow players to do just that.
I remember when the Xbox 360 offered faceplates, with Microsoft and other brands offering cool colours and designs. Could we be seeing something similar for Sony's next machine? We'd love a Miles Morales one, for example, although that might limit Sony's options for limited edition consoles.
