While Halo Infinite is still going to have a single-player campaign for those that care about the Halo lore, it’s clear that 343 Industries is focusing on the multiplayer, with a Free-to-Play mode expected to become a hot property and the focus on esports, as details on the first Halo Infinite HCS event will be announced next week.
This is a long time coming for many esports players as 343 Industries have been hyping up the Halo Infinite HCS (Halo Championship Series) for a while now, so the fact that we’re going to get some details next week is a good step forward.
First Halo Infinite HCS Event Details Coming Next Week
News on the Halo Infinite HCS event coming next week came from Twitter user Tashi, who is also the Halo esports lead at 343 Industries and Microsoft so this isn’t a hoax or anything like that.
Apparently, the big Halo Infinite HCS announcement is going to be bigger than we think as Tashi has stated that the format coming next week will replace the monthly ecosystem blog that some Halo esports fans may have gotten used to, so expect a small adjustment period.
Some fans might be annoyed by all this focus on the Halo Infinite HCS event, especially when the single-player campaign hasn’t gameplay trailers as of this writing, but multiplayer seems to be the draw for Halo Infinite, especially since 343 Industries already confirmed that this would be a live-service.
Halo Infinite is coming to the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on December 8.
