Classic Maps Might Come Back for Halo Infinite, but Not for a While

Excitement for Halo Infinite is at an all-time high, thanks to a new Campaign Overview that showed just how improved the game is and an open beta that was mostly successful, so fans might be more than excited to hear about the possibility of Classic Maps coming to Halo Infinite.

Adding older areas to newer game iterations isn’t exactly a groundbreaking concept but it is something fans appreciate, which is why the team at 343 Industries addressing the possibility of remade Classic Maps in Halo Infinite has fans excited.

Are Classic Maps Getting Remade for Halo Infinite?

Lead multiplayer designer Andrew Witts told IGN that they would rather work on new maps for the game, though stated that there is always room for remade Classic Maps in Halo Infinite, pointing out how recurring areas have been around since older Halo games.

"There are some maps that have been coming out in almost every single iteration of Halo. So I wouldn't say we would never do a remake. But again, we're doing a spiritual reboot, so we look at how we kind of put our own twist on it but still make it feel like a little bit of a nostalgia trip when you kind of run through them."

Considering how Halo Infinite is expected to be a live service, especially with the confirmed Free-to-Play multiplayer launching on the same day, we wouldn’t be surprised if more Classic Maps were added to Halo Infinite.

Halo Infinite is coming to the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on December 8, physically, digitally, and through Xbox Game Pass.
